Bayer Schering Pharma will develop and commercialise ProStrakan's Tostrex® in Canada, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Pacific region. A respective agreement between Bayer Schering Pharma and ProStrakan Group plc. was signed which grants Bayer exclusive marketing rights in these regions.

Novo Nordisk has announced that it will provide diabetes care, including free insulin, to 10,000 children in some of the world's poorest countries. AstraZeneca has entered into a settlement agreement in its Pulmicort Respules patent infringement litigation against Ivax Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Teva Pharmaceuticals USA. The agreement settles the patent infringement litigation filed by AstraZeneca following Teva's submission to the United States Food & Drug Administration of an Abbreviated New Drug Application for a generic version of Pulmicort Respules.
