Pfizer IncPfizer Inc (NYSE:PFE) announced that Explorer Acquisition Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pfizer, has purchased all of the shares validly tendered and not withdrawn pursuant to its tender offer for all of the outstanding shares of common stock of Encysive Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: ENCY) at a purchase price of $2.35 per share, net to the seller in cash, without interest thereon and less any required withholding taxes.

NycomedIn 2007 Nycomed increased adjusted EBITDA by 31.0% compared to last year to a total of € 1,222.2 million. The strong performance was accompanied in the fourth quarter by major advancements in the US out-licensing efforts that materialised in early 2008. The full year results benefited from increased sales, especially from high-margin products as well as a significant reduction in costs.
